Anatomy of a project

From a sketch on a napkin to year 30 of maintenance.

Five stages, one team. Every NativeWay MEP project moves through the same accountable process.

01
Design

Brief & engineering

Load calcs, schematics, BIM model, specifications and tender-ready BoQ — based on your operating profile, not a template.

02
Procure

Specify & source

Equipment specced for tropical climate, local codes and parts availability — sourced through our 80-year supplier network.

03
Build

Install & coordinate

In-house mechanical, electrical and plumbing crews working off one BIM model — no sub-sub coordination gaps.

04
Commission

Test & hand over

System-by-system commissioning, balancing, witness testing, O&M manuals, training and tagged handover.

05
Maintain

AMC & lifecycle

Same team that built it keeps it running — preventive maintenance, spares, 24/7 emergency response, retrofits at year 15.

Sectors we serve

The same engineering, calibrated to the building.

A hospital is not a hotel. A factory is not a bank. We've spent eight decades learning the difference — and the codes that come with each.

Resort MEP in the Maldives — one contractor, every discipline.

Most Maldives projects need a mechanical contractor, an electrical contractor, a plumbing contractor and someone for the powerhouse. We are all four. That is the difference between one programme and four sets of excuses when a shipment slips.

Power & generation

Resort powerhouses to 15 MW on Cummins engines and STAMFORD alternators, N+1 synchronising, LV distribution, control panels, fuel systems, exhaust and acoustics. Diesel generator supply & installation →

Mechanical & cooling

Central air conditioning, VRF, chillers and cold rooms, ventilation and ducting for kitchen, laundry and plant rooms — specified for salt air and continuous duty. AC & VRF systems in the Maldives →

Plumbing, water & tanks

Hot and cold water, drainage, pump sets, RO and desalination plant rooms, fuel and water storage tanks fabricated in house. Tank fabrication in the Maldives →

After-sales & AMC

Island call-out, scheduled servicing, engine overhauls and annual maintenance contracts — the same team that built it keeps it running. Generator service, repair & AMC →

Built on islands, not just drawn for them

Resort references include the Cummins powerhouse at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau, a 500 kVA engine block replacement at Cinnamon Dhonveli carried out without taking the resort off power, exhaust and stainless cladding at Cinnamon Ellaidhoo, and MEP works at Heritance Aarah.

MEP in the Maldives — common questions.

Do you work on outer islands, or only Malé?

Any island in the Maldives. Our Malé base handles procurement, fabrication and staging; crews and plant travel to site by landing craft or supply vessel. Scheduling is built around sea transport and weather from the start, not treated as an afterthought.

Can you take a whole MEP package, or only parts?

Whole package. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and power under one contract, with one programme and one point of responsibility — including the powerhouse, which is usually a separate contractor on Maldives projects.

Can you work on a live resort without shutting it down?

Yes. Most of our Maldives work is on operating properties. We phase the work so power, water and cooling stay on — the Cinnamon Dhonveli engine block replacement was completed with the resort trading throughout.

How do you handle salt-air corrosion?

It drives specification, not just finish. Stainless where it matters, corrosion-rated enclosures and fixings, galvanised and coated steel to suit exposure, and plant-room ventilation designed to stop salt-laden air sitting on equipment.

Do you handle design, or only installation?

Both. We work from a consultant's drawings, or design and build from a brief — including load calculations, plant sizing, single-line diagrams and shop drawings. Send what you have and we will tell you what is missing.

Who is NativeWay Maldives?

NativeWay Maldives Pvt Ltd is the Maldives subsidiary of NativeWay (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka's integrated MEP engineering group, engineering since 1942. Local company, local team, Malé office — with eight decades of engineering behind it.

Send us your drawings. We'll send back a real number.

Whether you have a tender BoQ, a concept plan or just a brief on a napkin — our MEP engineers will scope, size and quote it.

What island-capable MEP delivery means for your MEP tender

Working in the Maldives is a logistics problem before it is an engineering problem. Plant, pipe, cable and crews reach the island by sea, on a schedule set by weather and landing craft — and everything installed there lives in salt air. We size, specify and stage the work around that: corrosion-rated materials, phased shutdowns so a live resort never loses power or water, and a Malé store so a missing fitting does not cost a week.
