Untreated units can corrode within a few years on island sites — salt mist attacks the condenser fins, cabinet and fasteners. That's why the VRF outdoor units we supply come with factory-applied heavy anti-corrosion treatment: epoxy-coated black-gray fins with a hydrophilic film, triple-coated cabinet steel, polyethylene-dipped grills and DACROMET®-coated stainless fasteners — salt-spray tested to ISO 21207 / ASTM B117. Combined with smart siting and a fresh-water rinse regime under AMC, island units reach a normal service life.
For a resort or any property with many rooms, Hitachi VRF is usually the answer — one anti-corrosion outdoor unit serves dozens of rooms with central control and the best part-load efficiency, which matters when every kWh comes from diesel. For a small guesthouse, quality inverter splits per room are simpler and cheaper. Large resorts with central kitchens and laundries often justify a chiller plant. Rule of thumb: guest villas and room blocks favour VRF (zoned control, no chilled-water piping over water, better part-load efficiency at varying occupancy); large central facilities — kitchens, laundries, ballrooms — favour a chiller plant.
